I want to take time to touch on trigger warnings. I will tell you there is no way I can list every warning for what might trigger a reader. For example, you had a traumatic run-in with a dog, and now you don’t want to read anything that mentions a dog. There is no way I can know that. I can tell you the categories of my common ones that appear in multiple or most of my books. And I will explain why I don’t list them in detail in the front of my books. Let’s start with why I don’t list them in detail. The reason I don’t is that, sometimes, by doing so, it will spoil a surprise in the book. The simple truth is I hate spoilers.
I read a list of 150 trigger warnings that are for romance books prior to writing this. And I have to say, some of the examples are out there. So, just so you know, this is not an exhaustive list of what you will find in my books, nor are they in every book. Those that are common will be marked with an * (as they are in most of my books).
Abandonment, Abuse (emotional, physical & sexual)*, Bondage, Death, Family conflict*, Graphic death*, Graphic sex (every book), Guns*, Harassment, Human trafficking*, Kidnapping, Murder, Vigilante justice*, PTSD, Profanity (every book), Torture**.
My books do not have cheating between the main characters of the book, and they always end in a happily ever after.
